Many people enter psychotherapy because some event triggered strong, uncomfortable feelings. Beginning with this, the therapeutic process frequently reveals longer term patterns that contribute to current difficulties. I view therapy as a way of freeing ourselves from the past and helping us to be more of who were really are.

As a solution-focused therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true self and lead a life that is meaningful to you. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and engaging life.

My approach to psychotherapy is to develop a therapeutic space where difficult life questions can be deeply understood & addressed. Everyone experiences life differently & forms beliefs based on their experiences. I listen carefully & give what I hear a useful context. I'm empathic to others' feelings, believe that authentic human interaction can itself be therapeutic, especially the therapy relationship. In my over 20 years experience, I have learned that no one approach has all the answers, & so am flexible working with a variety of people.

I understand and practice the ideal that whatever the clinical model, it's our capacity for insight, compassion, reflection, and full presence that's the real source of healing.
